The following video I made for Dominic when he hit the big one-year seizure-free mark. I big celebration! Bless the Lord, O my soul.
Here is a video recapping Dominic's first year of life; most of which he was battling epilepsy. He's come a long way!!
People have asked me how I knew Dominic was having seizures or how I knew what the "spasms" were. I am very lucky that my wonderful mother captured his first seizures on video over Thanksgiving. Here he is having a complex partial seizure. Towards the end he has a spasm as well.
This is a video of our first night in the hospital in November. We had no idea what we were in for!
Here is a video of Dominic having a "cluster" of the spasms. Infantile Spasms always come in clusters, and his are anywhere from 5-30 lasting between 5-10 minutes. These are some of the more mild ones. Sometimes he holds his breath and sometimes he screams bloody murder, it depends the intensity of them.
Here is a happier video of Dominic. It's amazing what a thrill it is to see him smile now and look at me. Small glimpses of hope :o)
Since being off ACTH, Dominic has been such a happy baby. He loves to smile and laugh!
We are also working to help move along his development. He has a ways to go to get where he should be, but it's a start!
In March Dominic started developing more simple and complex partial seizures. Here is one of his simple partial seizures.
We had a bad weekend at the end of March when Dominic had 7 seizures in a 24 hour span. Here is him having a complex partial seizure.
